Our non-profit is seeking a dedicated and experienced Human Resources Manager to lead our HR team and support our organization's employees and volunteers. As the HR Manager, you will play a critical role in driving HR strategies, improving processes, and fostering a positive work environment that aligns with our values and objectives.
This position also requires general knowledge of business operations administration, finance, insurance, purchasing and other operational functions.
Key HR Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall mission and goals of the organization
- Coordinate recruitment efforts to attract, select, and retain top talent across all levels of the organization
- Manage the onboarding process to ensure new hires are well-integrated into the organization and understand the mission and values
- Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and best practices
- Coordinate with payroll and benefits vendors to ensure accurate processing and employee support
- Coordinate and administer compensation and benefits programs, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and organizational policies
- Lead performance management processes, including goal setting, feedback, and development planning
- Foster a culture of learning and development by identifying training needs and coordinating professional development opportunities
- Handle employee relations issues with sensitivity and fairness, serving as a trusted advisor to staff and leadership
- Coordinate with payroll and benefits vendors to ensure accurate processing and employee support.
- Process and oversee payroll functions, including reviewing timesheets, ensuring accuracy of wage and hour reporting, coordinating payroll submissions, and resolving payroll discrepancies in a timely manner
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and manage HR-related risk management initiatives
- Promote a culture of wellness and well-being among employees and volunteers
- Provide financial and administrative support in associated areas
- Manage employee engagement initiatives, staff events, and internal communications as assigned
- Maintain HR documentation, employee files, and required compliance records
- General knowledge of business operations
- Ensure operational compliance with company policies and regulations
Operational Responsibilities
- Assist with facilities oversite, purchasing and office administration
- Coordinate yearly insurance renewals
- Assist with the management of 2 company vehicles
- Support strategic planning and process improvement efforts
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration
- HR certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) or
- 3-5 years proven experience as an HR Manager or in a similar HR leadership role, preferably within a non-profit organization
- In-depth knowledge of HR best practices, employment law, and regulations
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels of the organization
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
